September 14th is the official "Autumn Festival"
for Vietnam, China and Korea. We're joining farmers in these countries to celebrate the bountiful summer harvest and bringing traditions from far away places to Kaleisia.
Sept. 13th - 30th - Traditional Chinese 中秋節 Sweets
Upon entering a relative's home during the Autumn Moon, a plate of sweets is served to guests. Kaleisia will have available for your enjoyment a selection that includes the famous moon cake, melon seeds, lotus candy, rice cake, pomelo and more. $5/plate.
Sept. 14th @ 6:30pm - Traditional Vietnamese Trung Thu
In additional to visiting relatives during this holiday, the Vietnamese community visits their local temple. If you are intersted in joining the Kaleisia family on our trip to the Buddhist Temple, please email Kim@thetealounge for details. (FREE)
Sept. 15th @ 7pm - Traditional Korean Chuseok Gathering
We're celebrating Autumn Moon the traditional Korean style. Guests will enjoy authentic Korean teas, rice cakes and treats. Kim will perform the Panyaro tea ceremony in a traditional hanbok (Korean dress) and share the meaning behind the Chuseok celebration.
